Home Instead is the world's leading provider of non-medical companionship based care in the community and has over 160+ offices nationwide. The Welwyn & Hatfield office is now looking to recruit additional people to join our fabulous team of CAREGiver's who look after our older client's in their own homes within their community.
We are looking to recruit a number of CAREGiver's to enable us to grow and face the challenges that we will no doubt find in the future. We are facing those challenges with confidence because we know that our CAREGivers are highly trained, exceptionally skilled, and really do pour their heart and soul into the caring of our elderly clients.
We look after people who reside in the following locations : Borehamwood, Brookmans Park, Hatfield, Potters Bar, Welham Green, Welwyn and Welwyn Garden City and villages, and are looking to recruit part-time staff who can travel within these area's.
It is essential that you have your own 'car', this is because we work in the community and travel between people's homes, and are not just travelling to one destination daily – This is non-negotiable.
By working together we can make this year an exceptionally good year for our client's and for our CAREGiver's. After all, can you think of a better opportunity than working with people who really recognize your worth, and who look forward to seeing you each day?
Our CAREGivers work in the homes of their clients ensuring that they are comfortable, and their needs are met on a daily basis, this means that we offer each client bespoke and individual care and assist and support them in whatever way they require. This bespoke care generally includes a mixture of:
1. Home Help – We help to keep their homes clean and tidy and generally undertake light housework which may include, dusting, vacuuming, meal preparation, washing up and throwing out of date food away, emptying bins and whatever else is needed.
2. Companionship Care – This can be sitting having a cup of tea and a chat about life, or listening to music, playing a game of cards, reading, and when able taking clients to social events.
3. Personal Care – Assisting with washing & dressing, choosing suitable clothing, checking continence pads and catheters, helping with toilet needs, shaving, hair washing.
There are lots of things we undertake to ensure our clients are comfortable and happy and each client has very different needs and requires a different mixture of support.

We are seeking people who enjoy working with older people and who can relate to the needs of the elderly and have considerable common sense in dealing with day by day problems. Life experience is more important than academic qualifications with a willingness to learn because the job is not just face and bottom wiping !
We require you to have your own car – Essential and non-negotiable.
We require you to have excellent verbal communication skills because our clients may have dementia or hearing loss and need to understand what is being said to them.
We offer Award Winning Training that includes e-learning modules and In-house Workshops and offer lifetime learning and professional development to enable you to be at the top of the CAREGiving Profession.
All of our positions are part-time and we like our CAREGivers to have flexible working patterns that will require some evenings and shifts on a Saturday and Sunday on alternate week-ends. Tell us what you would like to do and we will try to work with you where we can.
All positions are subject to four references and successful DBS clearance.
All positions require the CAREGiver to have their own transport.
You will be expected to work in multiple locations on a daily basis.
