About The Role

PART-TIME TWILIGHT SUPPORT WORKER – CHILDREN & YOUNG PEOPLE – THE OLD VICARAGE

We are recruiting for Part-Time Twilight Support Workers to join our well-established Children and Young People Residential Care Home, The Old Vicarage , Swinderby near Lincoln. Working on average 19 hours per week, from 17:00pm to 22:00pm on a fixed two week rota (M,T,S,S) (W,Th,F).

As a Support Worker, you will be key in helping young people with complex needs. Our approach . This is a challenging role, but the rewards are incomparable to any other job. Work with us . What will you be doing:

Becoming a support worker

• Working with all levels of the Staff Team to safeguard our young people at all time.
• Participating in a wide range of innovative and exciting recreational events held within the home and wider community.
• Assisting with practical matters relating to care (cooking, cleaning etc.)
• Creating positive relationships with the young people and offering them unconditional dignity and respect.
• Meeting the physical, emotional, behavioural and cultural needs of the young people.
• Continually maintaining accurate and clear record keeping.
• Ensuring that the needs of the young person are being met and reviewing and recording changes to those needs.
• Actively contributing to the development of the team. Workforce development .

About You

What experience and qualifications do you need:

• A genuine passion for care and to be motivated by contributing to the progression of others.
• A strong team player
• Resilience to keep going at difficult times and to ask for support if needed
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Computer literacy
• A Diploma Level 3 in Young People’s Workforce (or equivalent) or a willingness to complete this qualification within a fixed timeframe.

Becoming a support worker

** Please note that it is compulsory to attend our two week induction training if successful, which runs Mon-Fri from 9-5 approx, prior to starting on shift within the role. This will be paid **
