Job Description

Part -Time Support Worker

Salary: Up to £18,992.38per annum ( including a geographical allowance of £1,051.00) based on 37.5hrs/week

Hours: 24 hours per week, Mon-Sun including days, evenings, weekends and bank holidays. Sleep ins may be required.

Location: St Austell, Cornwall

Closing date : 28th May 2021

Please note a full driver’s license and access to own vehicle is essential for this role.

About the role

This service in St Austell supports adults with learning disability and an element of mental health. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of an enthusiastic team working with adults that have a learning disability and a small element of mental health.

We are looking for candidates that have the passion and desire to help our customer’s make a positive difference to their lives, enabling them to achieve their goals and outcomes.
You will work together with the team and in partnership with other agencies to provide an excellent service. You will be passionate about ensuring the service we deliver is person centred in supporting our customers to develop their confidence, skills, and independence in their homes and in the local community including:

  • Maintaining their homes
  • Budgeting and shopping
  • Planning and preparing meals
  • Accessing activities in the community (study, volunteering, social/leisure activities)
  • Support with medication
  • Personal care

About the candidate

As a Support Worker, you will help people with mental health problems or learning disabilities in their home or out in the community. This might include motivating someone to eat healthily or visit the gym, or providing support to a person with emotional problems.
