Job Description

Position at Wavemaker

At Wavemaker we believe there is always a better way to grow. And we do this by positively provoking growth for our clients and our people. So, with our apprenticeship scheme, you could be working with renowned brands and organisations in a global media agency, gaining a nationally recognised qualification, all while earning a competitive salary. If that sounds like the kind of growth you want, then here’s what you need to know…

We are looking for 10 bright, curious, and passionate entry level candidates to join our 15/18-month apprenticeship programme.

No qualifications needed; however, you do need to be aged 18+ by August 2021. You can be a fresh school leaver, or looking for a change in career, however we are unable to accept applicants with degrees at this time.

Applications close on the 31st May 2021. If your application is successful you will be invited to an assessment day, which is on the 8th July 2021.

Visa sponsorship is not provided for this programme. We can only accept applications from candidates who are eligible to work in the UK without restrictions.

We’re looking for bright and eager individuals who are passionate, agile, collaborative, entrepreneurial, and diverse. You do not need any prior experience or qualifications: you just need the right attitude and an appetite to learn on the job to develop your career. As a result, we do not have any set requirements in terms of age, experience, or qualifications, except that you must be aged 18+ by August 2021, and we unfortunately cannot sponsor visas for those unable to work in the UK visa-free.

We value drive and motivation, and a passion for media, content, and technology. If you can bring those things to the role, you will prosper within our agency.

Wavemaker is one of the largest media agency networks in the world. In simple terms, we are the middle man between a brand or organisation and the consumer. We take the adverts creative agencies make and put them in the right place at the right time, whether that’s on TV, billboards or through sponsoring major programming or events. We consider ourselves a media, content and technology agency because we do more than just plan and buy advertising space. Our people are the brains, the data experts, the creators, the innovators and the thinkers behind great brands and great campaigns. We work with some of the most forward-thinking brands in the business including Netflix, Paramount, British Airways, BMW, Eurostar, and Nationwide, among others.

The Splash is a 15-18 month accredited Apprenticeship programme starting in September 2021. You’ll have four days a week in the office and one study day, working towards a qualification and a permanent role.

On your work days we will have you diving into big brands, insightful projects and/or famous accounts from the off. It won’t be easy, but we promise that this will be the best kickstart to a career in media you could hope for. You’ll get to work alongside some of the brightest brains in the business in a department that best suits your interests and potential. So, whether you’re a number-cruncher, data diver, people person, digital-tinkerer or a content creator, we’ve got a role for you.

Training is an important part of life at Wavemaker for staff at all levels, so you won’t be going it alone. You’ll also have regular exposure to partners such as ITV, Snapchat, Metro, etc. as part of the learning process.

We don’t just want your CV, we want something bigger and better! Here’s what you need to do to apply:

Step One: Answer this question – ‘Grow your future’ is the people strategy at Wavemaker. How would a career in media allow you to grow your future? Your response can be a Short Statement, PowerPoint Presentation, Video or which ever style suits you best.

Step Two: CV. I know, I know, we said we didn’t need one. But we do need some information to get hold of you. If you would prefer not to share your CV, please send us a document including your name, DOB, email address and contact number.

Please don’t be put off by the work, we don’t want to scare you, we just want to get to know you. Applications close on the 7th June, so please don’t miss out.
